East Linton & District Community Association

News update February 2016

Congratulations to the East Linton Drama Group for another resoundingly successful pantomime which they staged in the East Linton Community Hall at the end of January. This time the capacity audiences were treated to Beauty and the Beast and great fun was had each evening by adults and children alike. Congratulations to all those involved and we all look forward to the Group’s next murder mystery which will be hitting our stage on May 19th.

Pix in the Stix are also celebrating thanks to a new remotely controlled cinema screen which has been fitted in the small hall. Visual quality has been considerably improved which we are sure will enhance the enjoyment of everyone coming along to the film shows and, once we can get some more comfortable seating, the East Linton Hall will be competing with the best cinemas in the area! Keep a look out for the posters. Thanks to all members of the Pix team for their work in securing the necessary funding for the new screen.

It is with regret that I have to announce that our very efficient and popular hall keeper, Margery Bambrick, has decided to move on to new pastures and will be finishing as hall keeper at the end of March. I’m sure Margery is well known to all hall users and they will miss her bubbly personality and enthusiasm to ensure all users needs are met to the full. I am delighted to say that the assistant hall keeper, Iain Yeaman, has agreed to step into the breach and he will be taking over as hall keeper with effect from April 1st. My thanks to Iain and I’m sure he will continue to provide the best service possible to all hall users.

This does mean, however, the we have a vacancy for assistant hall keeper and, if you think you might be interested in this role, please get in touch and I will provide you with details of what’s involved.

Lots of things going on the halls over the coming months details of which can be found on Bookings can be made by contacting Gayle on 07805 592321 or by emailing Please get in touch.
